We know that the debate about General Contractors Overhead and Profit can generate a lot of opinions depending on your industry. All of us in the Public Adjusting and contracting industry believe that O&P is owed on all claims. It’s always been understood by me that the carriers charge premiums on all policies based on Overhead & Profit of at least 10% & 10% being paid on all property damage claims. It’s almost scandalous that carriers instruct their adjusters to deny O&P on claims? Carriers will sometimes deny O&P on the roof and pay O&P on other trades? This will all blow up some day and the carriers will be the ones on fire!
